You really did 17 competitions in 1 year?

So you just closed out a year that consisted of 17 all natural bodybuilding shows, and you’re fresh off a show this past weekend, which was the 21st annual natural Olympia in Vegas. Tell us a little bit about your year and your results, man. It’s pretty wild.

So when I started off the year, I really had no intention of doing that many shows. Um, I had a good friend who actually was my coach this year, Eric Murphy. If you follow natural fitness, you know him. He’s, he’s, uh, one of the leaders and a legend and one of the best posers and a world champion. Um, he and I came up together here in Oklahoma as amateurs.

 So I’ve known him for a very long time. He’s my coach. Well, last year he did 18 shows and I thought he was out of his mind. I was like, man, you are crazy. What is wrong with you? Um, and somehow early in this year, I would have to say God placed it on my heart kind of as a vision to do that. Not 18 shows.

When I started off, I just say I had a, an idea to do a lot of shows. Um, and it turned into 17 more shows got added as a year went on. Now, the difference between Eric and myself is he typically just did one class men’s physique, pro men’s physique. Whereas me, I had the crazy idea to do three to five classes.
